Septic Truck Operators Wanted (On-Call Casual) *CLOSED*

The Piapot First Nation invites applications for on call casual Septic Truck Operators.  Reporting to the Public Works Manager, the Septic Operator position will be responsible to ensure the delivery of professional, efficient, and accountable operation of Hydrovac equipment to service housing units on Piapot First Nation.

Duties:

  • Operate Septic truck and equipment in a safe and professional manner.
  • Ensure client satisfaction by always providing excellent customer service.
  • Ensure all Septic truck equipment and components are in good working condition at all times.
  • Perform pre and post trip inspections, perform maintenance logs to ensure the truck is operating properly.  Report any insufficiencies to the Public Works Manager.
  • Light maintenance such as top up fluids, change filters, clean and sanitize PFN Septic truck 2000 Freightliner.
  • Maintain and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Notify the Public Works Manager of emergency repairs and are completed in a timely manner.
  • Responds to Public Works Septic emergency inquiries.
  • Follow approved program policies, procedures and standards.
  • Perform pre and post trip inspections, perform maintenance logs to ensure the truck is operating properly.  Report any insufficiencies to the Public Works Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Public Works Manager and/or Band Administrator

Qualifications:

  • The Septic Operators must have a minimum of Grade 10 and Safety training.
  • Must be willing to travel and must possess a valid driver’s license with 3A brake endorsements, a reliable vehicle and must submit a current Criminal Record Check.
  • The Septic Operator must have two to three years’ driving experience with safety training.  Also required is the knowledge and understanding of Piapot First Nations language, culture, traditions and social issues.
