Piapot First Nation is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Band Administrator to provide strategic and administrative leadership across the Nation’s operations.
Reporting directly to Chief and Council, the Band Administrator is the senior administrative leader responsible for the overall coordination, performance and integrity of Piapot First Nation’s programs, departments and services.

Key Responsibilities
The Band Administrator will:
- Provide strategic and administrative leadership across all departments and operational areas.
- Ensure Council-approved policies, motions, resolutions and priorities are implemented.
- Oversee organizational operations, service delivery and departmental performance.
- Hold Directors and Managers accountable for approved budgets, work plans, reporting requirements and outcomes.
- Provide Chief and Council with objective advice, recommendations, briefing materials and operational reports.
- Maintain a clear distinction between the governance responsibilities of Chief and Council and the administrative responsibilities of management.
- Lead organizational planning, budgeting and financial oversight in collaboration with the Finance Manager and Finance and Audit Committee.
- Oversee procurement, contracts, expenditures, capital assets and projects, insurance, risk management and operational continuity.
- Provide executive leadership for human resources, performance management, succession planning and organizational capacity development.
- Lead the development, review and implementation of governance policies, procedures and delegated authorities.
- Coordinate governance compliance, including Code of Conduct, conflict-of-interest, external audit and protected disclosure processes.
- Represent Piapot First Nation with governments, Indigenous organizations, funding agencies, financial institutions, professional advisors, service providers and community partners, as authorized.
- Promote a respectful, collaborative, culturally grounded, ethical and accountable workplace.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Indigenous Governance, Commerce, Leadership, Finance or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and significant senior leadership experience may be considered.
- Seven to ten years of progressive senior leadership experience, including responsibility for multiple departments, organizational budgets, policy implementation and executive-level decision support.
- Experience working within a First Nation, Indigenous organization, municipal government, public sector or a comparable complex organization.
- Demonstrated experience in financial oversight, risk management, human resources, capital projects and organizational change.
- Experience working effectively with elected governance bodies.
- Strong knowledge of First Nations governance, financial administration, First Nations Financial Management Board standards, policy implementation and delegated authority.
- A valid Class 5 driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
- The ability to provide satisfactory Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks and to be bonded.
