Summary
The Nehiyaw-Pwat Childcare Centre provides full-time daycare services as well as a HeadStart program. The Centre provides a safe and enriched learning environment, which makes provision for the development of the whole child – socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. The First Nation children are given the opportunity to develop cultural awareness and understanding of respect to themselves and others. Children have the readiness to meet the requirements in the regular school program.
The goal of the Head Start Program through File Hills Tribal Council is to ensure that First Nation projects recruit, select and employ qualified staffs who possess appropriate knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to provide high quality, comprehensive and culturally sensitive services to children and families in the program.
