Piapot Family Shelter Inc. is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and dynamic leader to serve as its Executive Director. Located on Piapot First Nation, the shelter will provide a safe, supportive, and culturally grounded environment for individuals and families experiencing violence.

About Piapot First Nation
Located northeast of Regina, Piapot First Nation is home to approximately 900 on-reserve members and oversees more than 19,000 hectares of land throughout Saskatchewan. The Nation is committed to strengthening community through culturally grounded programs and services while preserving and honouring cultural and spiritual teachings that guide daily operations and community initiatives.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will provide overall leadership and management for Piapot Family Shelter Inc., including operations, programs, staffing, financial management, and administration.
The successful candidate will ensure services are delivered in a trauma-informed, culturally respectful, and client-centered manner while building strong relationships with community organizations, government agencies, funders, and other partners to support the shelter’s long-term sustainability and success.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for shelter programs and services
- Oversee daily operations, staffing, and program delivery
- Ensure services are safe, effective, and trauma-informed
Community & Partnership Development
- Represent the shelter within the community and with partner organizations
- Build relationships with Indigenous organizations, service providers, and government agencies
- Foster collaboration to support women and families experiencing violence
Governance & Board Support
- Work closely with the Board of Directors to support effective governance
- Prepare reports and updates for Board meetings
- Support strategic planning and organizational development
Financial & Administrative Oversight
- Oversee budgets, payroll, and operational expenses
- Ensure compliance with funding agreements and organizational policies

Qualifications
- Degree in social work, human services, public administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Leadership or management experience within social services, shelters, or community organizations
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and Indigenous-led service delivery
- Experience supervising staff and managing programs
- Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills
Salary & Benefits
Salary Range: $75,000 – $80,000 annually
