Job Summary: Reporting to the Band Administrator, the Community Infrastructure Manager position is responsible for implementing the Piapot First Nation Public Works and Community Building program in compliance with Piapot First Nation policy, funding agreements and the direction from the Piapot First Nation Chief and Council. This includes ensuring the establishment of policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems, ensuring the legal and regulatory compliance for all reporting functions. The Community Infrastructure Manager will coordinate the Public Works and Community Building activities and is responsible for monitoring and overseeing Public Works and Community Building programs and will work in conjunction with the Housing Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Community Building Inventory with regular checks
- and facilitate the exchange of information between Piapot First Nation Chief and Council and Piapot First Nation administration
- potential funding, programs and projects as required for Piapot First Nation Public works and Community Buildings
- all Public works and Community Building maintenance functions and personnel in accordance with Piapot First Nation policies, procedures and related regulations
- the delivery of Piapot First Nation Public works and Community Buildings programs and services through the development of ISC proposals for program funding
Knowledge and Experience:
- Post-Secondary Education Certification and a minimum of five (5) years practical experience in related position, a combination of formal education and experience may be considered
- A valid drivers’ license and own a reliable vehicle
- Extensive knowledge of public works program development, repair and maintenance and management functions
- Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision
- Ability to communicate clearly, in both written and oral forms
- Ability to interpret and understand complex funding arrangements
- Ability to supervise staff and coordinate program tasks
- Microsoft office computer skills
- Willing to work flexible hours
