Piapot First Nation is seeking a Vice Principal for Chief Payepot School, located on the beautiful Piapot Cree Nation.

The successful candidate will work alongside the Principal to help foster a positive, respectful, and supportive learning environment for students, staff, and families.
JOB SUMMARY
Chief Payepot School is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Vice Principal to join our leadership team. The Vice Principal will work alongside the Principal to provide leadership in instructional excellence, student support, staff development, and school operations. This role is essential in creating a positive, respectful, and culturally enriched learning environment that reflects the values and traditions of the Payepot Cree Nation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide instructional leadership and support to K-12 teachers in delivering high-quality, culturally responsive education.
- Promote a positive school climate focused on student success, respect, and inclusion.
- Address student needs, behavior, and well-being using fair and restorative approaches.
- Support teacher supervision, professional development, and performance feedback.
- Build strong relationships with families, caregivers, Elders, and community partners.
- Promote and integrate Cree language, culture, and traditions throughout the school.
- Assist with the daily operations of the school, including scheduling, safety, and policy implementation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education (B.Ed.); Master’s degree or coursework in Educational Leadership is an asset.
- Valid teaching certificate and relevant administrative qualifications.
- Experience in educational leadership, preferably in Indigenous or rural communities.
- Strong understanding and respect for Indigenous cultures, languages, and traditions.
- Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and holistic student development.
