Piapot First Nation is seeking qualified and experienced individuals to serve on its Finance & Audit Committee (FAC).
The FAC plays an important role in supporting Chief and Council by providing oversight and recommendations related to financial reporting, risk management, internal controls, governance, and financial administration. As Piapot First Nation continues to focus on growth, accountability, and long-term sustainability, the Nation welcomes applicants with strong financial, business, governance, or organizational experience.
Term and Commitment
Committee members will serve a three-year term and can expect to participate in approximately five meetings annually, with the possibility of additional meetings during the first year. Compensation is provided.
Preferred Qualifications
Applicants may possess education and/or experience in areas such as:
- Accounting (CPA, CA, CGA, CIA)
- Business Administration
- Finance or Financial Management
- Governance or Risk Management
- First Nations Administration
- Organizational Leadership
- Economic Development
Required Skills and Experience
Successful applicants should demonstrate:
- The ability to read and understand financial statements
- Experience in business, finance, administration, or governance
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
- An understanding of accountability and confidentiality
- The ability to work collaboratively in a committee environment
Independence Requirement
Committee members must be independent and free from conflicts of interest that may interfere with objective decision-making responsibilities.
