Piapot First Nation (PFN) is located northeast of Regina, with a population of approximately nine hundred members on reserve. Piapot controls lands which are comprised of over 19,000 hectares located throughout Saskatchewan. With an abundance of community programs, we take pride in our Nation, ensuring we maintain our cultural and spiritual teachings, which are of utmost importance in our daily operations.
Job Summary:
The Nehiyaw Pwat Childcare Centre is presently looking for a reliable and energetic individual with qualifications and experience a registered early childcare educator who is willing to work with large groups of children, Toddlers to School-Age children.
Under the director supervision of the Childcare Supervisor, the Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Provide superior care of children from toddler to school age
- Deliver and develop age-appropriate activities with a focus on emergent curriculum
- Maintain logbooks an active attendance record
- Work cooperatively as a team with coworkers
- Maintain confidentiality
- Ensure children are learning positive behaviors and providing guidance as needed
- Assist in preparing meals and snacks when needed
- Be hardworking, reliable, observant, and have a positive attitude
- Have good organizational skills with ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Prepare children to enter the next level of care or for entry into school
- Work with parents to help children progress towards educational and behavioral goals
Qualifications:
- Must have add least one year experience working with children in a daycare setting
- Knowledge of First Nation Culture and Language
- Minimum Level 1 ECE
- Must have CPR and First Aid Certification (updated every 3 years)
- Maust have Criminal record check & vulnerability sector check
- Safe Food Handling
- Work Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
- Immunization record/Medical certificate
- A Valid Driver’s License and Reliable Transportation
