Sports & Recreation Coordinator – Apply by August 14, 2026

Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Sports & Recreation Coordinator to join Piapot First Nation. The Sports & Recreation Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering sports and recreation programming for Piapot First Nation members. This role supports youth and adult participation while coordinating travel, events, and partnerships with Indigenous sport organizations.

Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

Program Coordination

  • Develop and deliver annual sports programming
  • Coordinate leagues, camps, and community events

Team & Athlete Coordination

  • Register and confirm participants
  • Organize teams for tournaments and games

Travel & Logistics

  • Arrange transportation, accommodations, and meals
  • Prepare travel itineraries

Coaching & Volunteer Support

  • Recruit coaches and chaperones
  • Coordinate training opportunities for Parents/Caregivers

Partnerships

  • Liaise with FSIN, Tribal Council, and sport bodies
  • Support funding applications

Communications

  • Promote programs and events
  • Provide updates to leadership

Administration

  • Track budgets and participation
  • Maintain records and prepare reports
  • Develop a monthly/annual sports calendar

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma or degree in Recreation, Sport, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in program coordination or sports administration
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to do presentations/public speaking to athletes, parents and coaches and community members
  • Knowledge of Indigenous communities and sport systems (asset)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
