Piapot First Nation (PFN) is located northeast of Regina, with a population of approximately 900 members on reserve. Piapot controls lands comprised of over 19,000 hectares located throughout Saskatchewan. With an abundance of community programs, we take pride in our Nation and remain committed to maintaining our cultural and spiritual teachings, which are of utmost importance in our daily operations.

Job Summary

Piapot Family Shelter Inc. is seeking a dynamic and compassionate leader to serve as its Executive Director. The Piapot Family Shelter will provide a safe, supportive, and culturally grounded space for individuals and families experiencing violence.

The Executive Director will report to the Board of Directors and will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the shelter. This position will oversee programs, staff, finances, and daily operations while ensuring services are delivered in a trauma-informed and culturally respectful manner.

The Executive Director will also represent the shelter within the community and build strong relationships with partner organizations, government agencies, and funders to support the shelter’s mission and long-term sustainability.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the shelter’s programs and services.
  • Oversee daily operations, staff supervision, and program delivery.
  • Ensure services are safe, culturally appropriate, and trauma-informed.
  • Work collaboratively with the Board of Directors to support governance and organizational development.
  • Prepare reports and updates for Board meetings.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with Indigenous organizations, service providers, and government agencies.
  • Represent the shelter within the community and promote collaborative approaches to supporting women and families experiencing violence.
  • Oversee financial management including budgets, payroll, and operational expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with funding agreements, policies, and reporting requirements.
  • Support strategic planning and long-term sustainability of the shelter.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Public Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Leadership or management experience in social services, shelters, or community organizations.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and Indigenous-led service delivery.
  • Experience supervising staff and managing programs.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with community partners and stakeholders.

Salary Range:

$75,000 – $80,000 per year
