Now Hiring: Grade 7/8 Teacher (Deadline to apply August 1)

Chief Payepot School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Grade 7/8 Teacher for the 2025–2026 school year. This full-time position is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic middle school team and contribute to the academic and personal growth of First Nations youth in a culturally grounded environment.

You’ll be joining a staff committed to educational excellence, cultural inclusion, and student success. The ideal candidate is highly organized, engaging, and able to create a classroom environment that inspires learning and confidence in students.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Grade 7/8 core and elective subjects in alignment with Saskatchewan Curriculum guidelines
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
  • Apply effective classroom and behavior management strategies
  • Monitor student progress and assign appropriate assessments and grades
  • Support students’ academic, social, and emotional development
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff
  • Collaborate with education team members in a supportive, team-based environment
  • Integrate Cree culture, language, and knowledge into teaching practices where appropriate
  • Other duties as assigned by the principal

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree
  • Valid Saskatchewan Professional A Teaching Certificate
  • Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience preferred
  • Strong classroom management and planning skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of and respect for Indigenous cultures; Cree language and traditions considered an asset
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
