Chief Payepot School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Grade 4/5 Teacher for the 2025–2026 school year. This full-time elementary teaching position offers an exciting opportunity to support the academic and personal growth of students in a culturally grounded learning environment.
You’ll be joining an enthusiastic team of educators who bring energy, experience, and a strong commitment to teaching First Nations youth. The successful candidate will be highly organized, creative, and skilled in developing engaging lessons that inspire learning and respect Cree culture and values.
Responsibilities
- Teach Grade 4/5 core subjects in alignment with Saskatchewan Curriculum guidelines
- Create a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment
- Apply effective classroom and behavior management strategies
- Support students’ academic, social, and emotional development
- Provide regular assessments and feedback
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff
- Collaborate with fellow educators in a team setting
- Integrate Cree culture, language, and local knowledge into classroom practices
- Other duties as assigned by the principal
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree
- Valid Saskatchewan Professional A Teaching Certificate
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant elementary teaching experience preferred
- Strong classroom management and planning skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Knowledge of and respect for Indigenous cultures; Cree language and traditions considered an asset
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
